OTHER WAYS TO LEAVE A LEGACY

Life Insurance

If you have more insurance coverage than you need, you may consider transferring ownership of the policy to the WHAS Crusade for Children. You will receive a charitable income tax deduction equal to the policy’s cash surrender value or cost basis, whichever is less.

Retirement Asset

You can designate the WHAS Crusade for Children as a beneficiary of part of all the remainder of your IRA or retirement plan. Distributions from retirement plans at the death of the survivor of the account holder can be subject to both income and estate taxes. By naming the WHAS Crusade for Children as the beneficiary of your retirement plant, 100% of the plan’s balance is available for the Crusade’s use since the distribution avoids both income and estate taxes.

Life Income Gifts

Life income plans enable you to make a meaningful gift to the WHAS Crusade for Children while receiving significant income and tax benefits. There are several different types of life income gift arrangements available. These include charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities and pooled income funds.
