WHAS-TV set designer and lighting director Harry Campbell passed away on May 31, 2009 in Florida. His vision lives on in the WHAS Crusade for Children sets and sense of caring.

CAMPBELL, HARRY W., 82, past away Sunday, May 31, 2009 in St. John’s, FL., formerly of Louisville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Linnet Supply Ship, a set designer for WHAS TV and a member of the Tower Society at his church, St. Paul United Methodist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy L. Shelton Campbell; and brother, Elvin Garret Campbell, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Alycia “Anne” DelMar, Kristen Campbell and Caroline Porfilio (Dale); and grandchildren, Katherine, Griffin, Gabriella, Duncan and Abigail. His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2000 Douglas Blvd., with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Music Ministry of St. Paul United Methodist Church or Family Promise of Jacksonville, FL.
