Flaget Memorial receives Crusade grant

Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown is celebrating its 60th birthday with a special gift from the WHAS Crusade for Children.

“On behalf of the WHAS Crusade for Children, it’s my pleasure present this check to Flaget Memorial Hospital for $11,000,” said Dr. Tom Mobley, Pastor of Nelson Christian Church and Chair of the Crusade Advisory Council.

Flaget’s Crusade grant allowed the hospital to equip its emergency room with a pediatric resuccitation cart. The cart lets doctors and nurses quickly determine the proper doses of medicine for a child like Brody Downs during an emergency.

Bruce Klockars, President of Flaget Memorial Hospital said, “That cart will provide the necessary equipment and supplies to our staff to be able to take care of kids as soon as they come into the emergency department.”

The hospital staff particularly wanted to thank the firefighters from Nelson and surrounding counties who collected money for the Crusade which helped make this grant possible.
