Great things since Crusade weekend

The generosity continues

With all the hustle and bustle of the WHAS Crusade for Children’s big telethon weekend on June 4-5, 2011, a few other events and donations may have been missed.

Pacers and Racers

Mike Stallings and his crew from the Pacers & Racers running store in New Albany put on “The Barnyard Dash” at the Joe Huber Family Farm and Restaurant on June 11, 2011.

Hundreds participted in the 10K run/5K walk. Proceeds benefitted the WHAS Crusade for Children. At the conclusion of the race festivities, Mike was pleased to present Crusade CEO Dawn Lee with a check for $5,104! Thanks to Mike, his army of volunteers, the Huber family and all who participated.

Louisville man wins quilt

Bob Rising of Louisville won the “labor of love” fire patch quilt created by Joyce H. Greenwell of Bardstown. Bob was happy to receive the quilt shortly after Crusade weekend.

Abbey Road Quilt Girls

Liz Dugan, Lara and Heather Schroering love The Beatles and they love children. So for this year’s Abbey Road on the River festival they decided to make and raffle a unique quilt to benefit the Crusade. Over Memorial Day weekend, the “Quilt Girls” as they call themselves, sold raffle tickets for the quilt. They raised more than $1,800 for the Crusade!

Lyndon Elks

Just after Crusade weekend, Stephen Moore, Exalted Ruler of the Lyndon Elks 2052 presented a check to the Crusade for $250 adding to the Elks increasing total.
