Crusade friend Buddy Head dies
His first Crusade was 1964 and he’s been part of the WHAS Crusade for Children family ever since. Willie S. “Buddy” Head died on Saturday, July 7, 2012. He was a longtime friend of the Crusade and a key component in organizing fire department fundraising efforts.
Teamed with his wife of 52 years Judy and other family, Buddy could be seen on the Crusade telethon each June conducting traffic and lining up fire departments for the broadcast from Ballardsville, Kentucky. He started a tradtion a few years ago by having his grandchildren recite the Pledge of Allegiance to kick things off.
Buddy, you will be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
