Kentucky Telco and Craig & Landreth join forces to raise money!

Thanks to a special event for the 60th year of the WHAS Crusade for Children, buying a car means much needed funding is going to children with special needs.

Richard Reese of Kentucky Telco Federal Credit Union said, “On behalf of Kentucky Telco Federal Credit Union and the Craig & Landreth Auto Dealerships, we’d like to present this check for $3,500 to the WHAS Crusade for Children.”

In honor of the Crusade’s 60th year during the months of April and May every car loan generated between Craig & Landreth and Kentucky Telco brought $60 to the children the Crusade serves.

Andy Hall of Craig & Landreth said, “It seemed to make sense for both us and Kentucky Telco on giving something back to the community.”

Both companies say they plan to do this fundraiser again. And next time raise even more money.

About 200 Kentucky State employees joined in the “beach theme” fun at the Frankfort Convention Center on July 23 for the kickoff of the 2013 Kentucky Employees Charitable Campaign. Tim Longmeyer, secretary of the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet, the chair for this year’s campaign, addressed the crowd and rallied workers to make a difference.

The WHAS Crusade for Children is one of seven charities for 2013. Employees participate in “fun” raising as well as fundraising activities while contributing through payroll deduction. The KECC runs from July through October. The 2013 theme is “Together We Care.”

Last year’s efforts raised $1,238,648 for the charities. Employees contributed $129,387 to the WHAS Crusade for Children in 2013.
