RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS

Put your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) to work – help children without triggering taxes. Beginning at age 70 1/2, you can give from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as the WHAS Crusade for Children without having to pay income taxes on the money. This is called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Beginning in the year you turn 73, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). Talk to your financial institution about directing your gift to the WHAS Crusade for Children.

DONATE YOUR VEHICLE

GIVING BY WILL

Your legacy, locked in hearts – gifts that echo compassion. Leave a lasting legacy—include the Crusade in your estate planning and become a member of the 1954 Society. www.freewill.com

LIFE INSURANCE

Give peace of mind – designate the Crusade as beneficiary on your policy and support future children. If you have more insurance coverage than you need, you may consider transferring ownership of the policy to the WHAS Crusade for Children. You will receive a charitable income tax deduction equal to the policy’s cash surrender value or cost basis, whichever is less. Please contact your financial or legal advisor for more information.

RETIREMENT ASSET

Turn tomorrow’s savings into today’s hope. You can designate the WHAS Crusade for Children as a beneficiary of part of all the remainder of your IRA or retirement plan. Distributions from retirement plans at the death of the survivor of the account holder can be subject to both income and estate taxes. By naming the WHAS Crusade for Children as the beneficiary of your retirement plant, 100% of the plan’s balance is available for the Crusade’s use since the distribution avoids both income and estate taxes. Please contact your financial or legal advisor for more information.

LIFE INCOME GIFTS

Gift with a twist – provide income for life and still spark hope for children long term. Life income plans enable you to make a meaningful gift to the WHAS Crusade for Children while receiving significant income and tax benefits. There are several different types of life income gift arrangements available. These include charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities and pooled income funds. Please contact your financial or legal advisor for more information.

THE 1954 SOCIETY

The 1954 Society honors generous supporters who include the Crusade in their will or estate plans. Membership ensures your legacy continues to change lives by providing children with critical medical care, education, and hope for the future. Learn more
