2023 WHAS Crusade for Children Grants announced

Agencies, schools and hospitals dedicated to serving children with special needs in Kentucky and Southern Indiana received great news from the WHAS Crusade for Children. Just weeks following the 70th WHAS Crusade for Children telethon, 100% of the $6,232,176.70 collected was awarded in the form of 220 grants to help make life better for children with special needs in Kentuckiana.

30-hour telethon
All the grant recipients were notified this week that their grant requests will be funded thanks to the generous donations received during the 30-hour telethon. The telethon was broadcasted on WHAS11 television, 840WHAS radio, WBNA-TV21 (Louisville), WBKO-TV13 (Bowling Green), and streamed worldwide on WHAS11.com, WHAS11+, and Facebook during the weekend of June 3-4. The WHAS Crusade for Children continues to be America’s most successful local telethon, highlighting the unwavering support and commitment of communities in this region to making a positive difference in the lives of children with special needs.

100% for the kids!
In its first 70 years, the Crusade has raised more than $211 million for children with special needs. One hundred percent of all donations raised Crusade weekend are returned in the form of grants to agencies, schools and hospitals that make life better for children with special needs in Kentucky and southern Indiana.

It all adds up!
From individual donors who drop pocket change into boots at firefighter collection sites to children with lemonade stands to corporations that offer payroll deduction, it all comes together during this annual miracle on the first weekend in June.

The WHAS Crusade for Children announces its grants for 2023 – 2024. 220 grants have been awarded totaling $6,232,176.70. That matches the tote board at the conclusion of the 70th annual WHAS Crusade for Children which took place on June 3 – 4, 2023.
